Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Verba uses local browser storage for essential preferences and, only with your permission, cookies and similar technologies for analytics and third-party content.

Your choice comes first

Optional analytics and embedded posts from X do not load until you accept them. Rejecting optional technologies does not prevent you from reading Verba. The Substack subscription form remains available as a third-party subscription service. You can change your choice at any time:

Necessary local storage

These entries are stored in your browser because they are needed to remember choices you explicitly make. They are not used for advertising.

NamePurposeDuration
verba-themeRemembers light or dark theme.Until deleted
verba-privacy-consent-v2Remembers your privacy preferences.Until deleted or the consent version changes

Optional analytics

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may set the following first-party cookies:

CookiePurposeDefault duration
_gaDistinguishes users.2 years
_ga_<container-id>Persists session state.2 years

Google documents these cookies in its Analytics cookie guidance.

Substack subscription form

The subscription form is hosted by Substack and loads directly from its domain. Substack may use its own cookies or similar technologies and processes information under its own privacy terms. The form includes links to Substack's terms and privacy information.

Optional embedded posts

Allowing embedded posts loads content from X. Requests then connect directly to X, which may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Their names and durations can change independently of Verba.

Browser controls

You can also delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Deleting Verba's preference entry means the website will ask for your choices again.
