Welcome to Verba!
Verba is where we do things differently—and we mean it.
This project exists because words still matter deeply in our lives. Despite the rise of short videos and photo formats, text shapes our thoughts, echoing within us and all around us.
Words, quite simply, are the most powerful tool we have. They give form to our emotions and experiences, helping us not only feel more deeply but also understand what’s happening within us. They carry weight and influence.
That’s why Verba was born.
About the Creator
Verba is the brainchild of Alexey Chesnokov (Barcelona, originally from Russia). Once a journalist covering global politics and economics, Alexey is now an explorer of technology and creative ideas.
Verba reflects this journey—a blend of politics, tech, life, and, of course, a love letter to Barcelona.
Our Mission
Verba’s goal is to spark joy and fulfillment in life.
That joy comes when our minds aren’t cluttered by fleeting, bite-sized content, and endless scrolling doesn’t hijack our behavior.
Here, we embrace the long-form text—an invitation to see the world more broadly, to question, to argue, or to agree with what you find.
We cherish fresh ideas, insights, unconventional formats, and bold approaches.
A Small Luxury, A Quiet Rebellion
In today’s world, pausing to reflect on what’s happening and focusing on your own life feels like a luxury.
Endless scrolling chips away at our cognitive clarity and healthy habits.
But projects like Verba might just help us reclaim a bit of mindfulness and control.
That’s what happens when you encounter living, breathing words and give yourself permission to think.
This is a space for thinkers, skeptics, nerds, and rebels. If you’re here, you probably already know why.
Here, you’ll find politics and technology, Barcelona and the bigger picture, meaning and a touch of irony.
